Growth in World-Wide Terror Attacks 2004 - 2008

Terror attacks, defined as premeditated, politically motivated violence against noncombatants by subnational groups, have grown wolrd-wide from 3,100 in 2004 to 13,500 in 2007.

Terror attacks in Afghanistan alone have grown from 2 in 2003, 3 in 2004, 123 in 2006, to 160 in 2007. So far in 2008 (As of Aug. 1, 2008) there have been 100 suicide attacks.
